Yes I am sure there are some Government grants out there but I have not found any except for one. And if it was so easy for everyone to get one for there needs. We would have no more poverty.

I find it hard to believe that all of the "HUD" homes that are available are in bad neighborhoods. You must not have seen some of the ones that I have seen! Real Estate investors have used this program to their benefit and if you knew some of the techniques they used to use them to their advantage you could take advantage of the same thing. There are also government programs where they will sell houses/properties to the local communities for $1 and in that respect you as an individual could lease or even buy at a much smaller amount. There are also organizations that build housing for those who are low-incomed that qualify for such programs. Unfortunately if it is funds that you are seeking for a downpayment there is no question about there being funding programs out there because they are and they are available for just this sort of thing.
